Brexit.Trade
Access over 500,000 Buyers - Across the Trade Gateways Programme

About This Site
Brexit.Trade is part of the Trade Gateways Programme operated by Local Merchant Services. Following Brexit, the UK can strike its own deals for buying and selling goods and services around the world. A Trade Agreement facilitates trade - usually in goods but sometimes in services too - by making it cheaper.
While the UK was an EU member, it was automatically part of around 40 trade deals which the EU had struck with more than 70 countries. Post Brexit, however, there is a need for the UK to be able to access markets outside the EU that the UK has its own trade deals with. Trade Gateways are required for this to happen well. This site provides access to such Trade Gateways, and provides access to customized services and IBM Services
Trade Gateways Services
Brexit.Trade is part of the Trade Gateways Programme which creates access to Trade Gateways to countries that the UK has a Post Brexit Trade Deal with by providing the following features for each Trade Gateway

Enabling Blockchain Transactions
Blockchain technology is the future of supply chain. It can be used in any type of supply chain where there is some sort of transfer of ownership
Tokenization is used to make this happen. Tokenization is the process of converting physical assets into digital tokens on a blockchain that can be instantly traded on a blockchain in a transparent and automated manner. As such blockchain has the potential to facilitate trade and to reduce trade costs significantly. However, For Blockchain to realize its potential as above, there has to be an infrastructure to easily digitalize assets
This site is a part of a programme that provides the requisite local infrastructure to enable such tokenization
Training and Experts Services
This site also provides Access to Blockchains Training to enable participation in the Blockchain Facilitated Marketplace

Blockchain is removing barriers of trade, which can lead to more than US$ 1 trillion of new trade in the next decade. Blockchain can greatly facilitate Paperless Trade. Applications of Blockchain in cross border trade include:
Trade Finance: The complexity and scale of existing procedures in trade finance have meant that many organizations that require Trade Finance, particularly SME's have not been able to access Trade Finance. Blockchain can greatly help with addressing these issues and make Trade Finance faster, more accessible, and secure
Taking control of border procedures for trade: Blockchain with smart contracts can enable users to complete customs procedures efficiently and securely.
Time and Cost Savings: Blockchain can greatly reducing the time and expense of cross border trade procedures
Supply Chain: Traditional Supply Chains have inherent weaknesses that have been highlighted by the Covid-19 Pandemic. Many Of these inherent weaknesses can be addressed by Blockchain.
